Fountains

İskilip Fountains

İskilip is a city rich in fountains. There are 20 fountains in the city that are in relatively good condition and are antique works. There are also 22 fountains, some of which have completely disappeared and some of which have survived until today, having lost their status as ancient works. Most of these fountains built in the narrow streets and squares of old neighborhoods or in front of some monumental buildings (such as mosques) distribute the "Hacı Ali Water". For this reason, local people know almost every fountain as "Haceli" (Hacı Ali) fountain. Waters with names such as Çay Suyu, Hacı Ali Water, Kara Water and Yivlik Water flow from the İskilip fountains.
